Dr. Jeanna Scully graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a BS in Marine Biology. She spent several years working in research laboratories at UTMB and Tulane Medical Center before attending Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. For the past 25 years she has worked in small animal private practice in the greater New Orleans area, and at Marrero Veterinary Clinic for the past 17 years. She enjoys nurturing the human-animal bond between her clients and patients through education on the foundations of good husbandry and preventative care, as well as adapting to pets’ changing needs with age.  She engages in open and honest communication about management of illness, expectations and costs of care, and the limitations of general practice when more specialized care is needed. She works to understand each pet family’s unique circumstances, while making every effort to provide the best possible care for her patients throughout every life stage, from the first vet visit up until the very last.

Dr Scully has 2 adult sons, and resides in Harvey with her husband Carl, and geriatric Shih Tzu-Chihuahua mix, Flip. In her spare time, she enjoys neighborhood walks with Flip, Saints and LSU football, reading and watching psychological thrillers, cooking and eating meals with family and friends, attending rock concerts, and traveling domestically and abroad.
